About
Caution Danger Thank you — Art Intervention into the space of CСI Fabrika, the territory of the former October factory of technical papers. In daily urban life, we encounter a multitude of signs and signals that warn us about potential dangers. This installation explores how these cautionary signs act as a form of disciplinary power, shaping our behavior and perception of the city.
The caution tape, in this context, becomes a symbol of the city's attempt to control and regulate public spaces. Foucault's ideas on the panopticon and surveillance resonate, as these signs work as a mechanism to not only draw attention but also to influence behavior, creating a sense of safety through the subtle imposition of authority. Thus, within the signal space of the cube, the viewer is subtly immersed in the power dynamics and disciplinary techniques that shape our interactions with urban environments.
